Thank you for your comment. You are definitely correct that agents should not forward on their username and password as a means to forward on a report. We even say that directly in the default emails to the agents that they should never do that and provide for them a separate method for forwarding reports, using a separate password. But unfortunately, for the sake of ease, it happens occasionally. We used to have usernames and passwords not be sent to agents, except for on their very first login (most often the inspector creates their accounts for them), but that seemed to cause a much worse situation, then sending them their username and password when each new report is uploaded for them. In any case, we appreciate your comment and will continue to brainstorm ways to make this system work better for everyone involved. Aug 27, 2010 4:36 PM

WARNING ABOUT WHAT NEVER TO DO: After logging in with the info my buyer's agent sent us, I saw the Home Inspection Report on my home and, to my shock, saw that I also could have viewed, printed, and saved all the agent's other listed Inspection Reports here! The buyer's agent made the huge mistake of BLINDLY FORWARDING an email from an inspector, an email meant only for her that included her login name/password to her account (not obvious upon receipt by those she wrote). What she did made extremely confidential information available to me and others about ALL her listed Home Inspection Reports on this site! Serious confidentiality breach! *I think INSPECTORS SHOULD NEVER INCLUDE LOGIN NAME and PASSWORD INFO IN ANY INSPECTION REPORT THEY SEND!* I also think AGENTS SHOULD NEVER BLINDLY FORWARD EMAILS!* Confidentiality is a cornerstone of real estate and to breach it like this is completely unacceptable.
