How do they get rid of radon? For most homes it may involve sealing around the foundation walls and installing a pipe that will draw the radon gas under the home into the pipe where it discharges to the outside air. There are some training and knowledge required to mitigate radon properly. Your home inspector may test for radon and recommend another company to mitigate. or, he or she may be qualified to mitigate radon themselves.
Does it always work? No. Most of the time they can keep it from coming into the home. But, sometimes there are homes that for whatever reason continue to allow radon in even with mitigation. This is why you should always test for radon before you purchase the home.
