Maryland Home Inspection Regulations
Currently Home Inspectors are not required to be licensed or registered by the state at this time. HomeGauge encourages you to check the background of any home inspector thoroughly. Please check out "How To Select A Home Inspector". Even though the state has no regulations please contact your local jurisdiction for information regarding home inspectors at the city or county level. While Maryland does not currently require licensing of Home Inspectors Maryland law requires home inspectors to disclose professional qualifications and a standard disclosure of the inspection scope. A law required licensing of Home Inspectors has been passed, but as of 09/09/05 the state's licensing website indicates the program has not yet been implemented due to budgetary constraints.
