Accept credit cards online for your business
Get more work and get paid faster! If you get just one more customer because you accept credit cards, then it will easily pay for itself. Everyone hates being a bill collector. You can make it easier to collect payment with credit cards.
How does it work?
You can use the merchant account in the different ways below.
- Include a "Pay Now" button on your HomeGauge web page or your website to allow anyone to submit a payment to you at any time.
- Send out an email requesting payment with the amount due and a link that will take the person straight to your payment page allowing them to pay online instantly.
- You can also sign in to the payment gateway (Authorize.net) and process a credit card manually if it was given to you over the phone. When you sign in you will also be able to see reports of all your transactions.
What you will need to accept credit cards through HomeGauge:
- A merchant account. This is where the client's money goes and then it is transferred to your bank account. This must be a "Card not present merchant account" or "Internet" type of account.
- A Payment Gateway. This is the service that takes the credit card off of the Internet and processes the transaction in the normal processing route. The payment gateway that HomeGauge supports is Authorize.Net.
HomeGauge can help you get both of these, see below.
If you want to use this feature you must use the HomeGauge Busines Bundle, have a merchant account, and use the payment gateway company "Authorize.net." They currently have over 5000 merchants that you can sign up with. In addition to collecting a percentage of the amount billed, each merchant account provider typically charges a monthly fee, cancellation fee, and early termination fee, so be sure to read the fine print of the "Terms of Service" with whomever you decide to use. Why don't we use PayPal?
PayPal is not a bank. They can freeze your money for whatever reason they want.
PayPal limits your withdrawals to $500 a month without positive feedback.
PayPal is good for selling things, but is not oriented or practical for business use.
