Before you call me for a quote, here are a few reasons I feel I am the best home inspector for you:

  • I have been in the construction industry since I was 17 years old, as a home builder, superintendent, and inspector.
  • Since becoming an inspector, I have earned a Certificate of Completion in Building Safety Technology.  This consists of semester long courses in the Building, Electrical, Mechanical, & Plumbing Code, as well as Environmentally Responsible Building, Print Reading & Drafting, and Methods & Materials of Construction.
  • I focus not only on Mental conditioning, but Physical conditioning too.  This is a necessity, as I need to be able to access many areas of your attic and roof in order to perform a thorough inspection.  Also, an inspection can take several hours, which can be challenging to inspectors, especially in the summer months.  I make sure I have the energy, strength, and stamina to do my job.
  • I do not care how long your inspection takes.  I will not leave until I am confident that all of your questions have been answered, even if it takes me all day.  You are the paying customer and the boss, and you will get your money's worth. 
  • I put a lot of time and education into my inspection reports, which are customized to your home, complete with many pictures.  Although they are encouraged to do so, most of my customers do not need to call me once reading the report, as they are extremely detailed without being confusing.   
  • All home inspections include a visual inspection for mold, typically a $200 value.  This is a visual inspection only, sampling is available for an additional fee, and I come equipped to every job in the event I feel sampling is necessary.  You can trust me to recommend testing only when I feel it is necessary, instead of taking a fear approach.
  • I absolutely love inspecting houses, and will treat your inspection like I am the one buying the home.

Gauge Attributes

Customers can Gauge service providers on the following 10 attributes. Not all attributes will apply to all service providers.

  1. Punctuality and Timely Completion: No one likes to wait or have large windows of time where service providers "might" get to them. No one likes the job to drag out because of the service provider's other projects or if it becomes apparent that the SP did not plan well.
  2. Workmanship: No one likes shoddy work, shortcuts, or tradesmen who take advantage of the customer's lack of awareness of what is good quality work.
  3. Responsibility: Many home owners do not wear shoes in their home and service providers should wear covers over their shoes when necessary. SP's should not travel into rooms that are not in the work scope. They should not use the toilet without asking. If the SP soils or breaks something, they should try to replace it.
  4. Professionalism: A Professional does not try to add unnecessary work to the contract. Nor do they try to make themselves look good by demeaning their competition or by discussing religion or politics. Professionals stand behind their price and make the experience pleasant with the customer.
  5. Cleans Up Daily: Customers like to know that each day when service providers leave the room, it is in a broom swept condition, meaning nothing laying around loose, dangerous, all cords are rolled up, and trash or debris is contained or removed. SP's should clean up at the end of the job.
  6. Friendly: No one wants to hear service providers' personal problems. The service provider should be pleasant to be around.
  7. Responsive to a Customer's Call: Call backs should be made in the same day and the service provider should do what was promised.
  8. Well Organized: Generally speaking, from start to finish, the process went well, any concerns were addressed or corrected, and the repair or project ended well with everyone satisfied.
  9. Hygiene: The service provider should look clean, smell clean, and wear shoe covers indoors when needed.
  10. Recommended: Would you recommend this individual or company?
