I've been on multiple inspections with Paul and all of them have been the best experiences I've had with inspections both professionally and personally. The amount of information even lay people can learn from his inspections is worth just as much as the inspection itself. Paul has no problem getting into the details of why something is a problem and his explanations aren't so way over your head that you can't understand them. He's a pleasure to be around in general and is brutally honest when you're wrong but in the best way, like a friend who won't let you even contemplate rewiring a main breaker box when you can barely operate a screwdriver but have YouTube. We found out the fireplace in the home we just bought is damaged and not safe to use. But, Paul gave us some alternative ideas. So, now we will still have the beauty of a fire place, as well as functional heat, by going to electric. Very excited about this alternative.

During the home inspection, Paul noticed sway in a beam over the garage door and recommended getting it evaluated by a structural engineer. The structural engineer determined that the beam was stressed beyond its load capacity and needed replacing or substantial reinforcing. The sellers and even our realtor had assumed that because the beam was that way when they had bought the house 23 years ago, it was fine - but clearly, it is actually a major structural issue waiting to happen. Paul's use of infrared also pinpointed areas where missing insulation led to ice damming and subsequent damage. Thorough and informative, responsive to follow-up questions. Definitely recommended!

This inspection is the 2nd that Paul has done for us. We requested him for a home we are buying because he was so thorough the 1st inspection he did. He walks through and explains the whats and whys to his suggestions and takes time to answer questions even if they seem silly. He is thorough but stays on task and offered to come back for a re-inspection if we had the sellers change anything.

If you are not working with Paul you are not getting all of the information. Paul came recommended to us and after having him conduct the inspection, I can see why he was recommended.
First, Paul was able to accept, schedule and conduct the inspection in a much shorter time than expected. He showed up on -time and was prepared. Paul is very easy to talk to and very professional.
Next - the inspection report. Simply put, WOW!! The report was very detailed and easy to understand. Any deficiencies were explained in layman's terms. He took photos of any and all questionable areas and included whether he felt the repair could be completed by a homeowner, handyman or professional. We are spending a lot of money on purchasing a home and I want a thorough inspection. Paul's attention to detail is truly appreciated.
Lastly - pricing. I don't know what is common or normal pricing for a home inspection. However, I feel Paul's pricing was more than reasonable and quite frankly, I was expecting to pay more.
