Doug was outstanding. He was given hardly any notice due to a holiday and quick closing and like Superman, he appeared, greeting us with a smile and a tremendously warm congratulations. With tools in hand, he took off his street shoes and put on work shoes and asked if he could get started. First he explained the general overview as he did not know if this was a first home or fifth. He wasted no time in getting down to business, there was no fluff, he did not try to sell us on buying an entire hardware store, but he did stop and with a sincere tone asked, "so what concerns do you have or is there anything we should look at first?" He was completely open with dialogue and welcomed communication. I asked if I could look over his shoulder as I was always willing to learn as well as take extra care of our home. He welcomed the idea without hesitation, actually inviting me to ask as there was no such thing as a ridiculous question. If he found something that needed attention, he immediately shared or found me to explain what to watch for, investigate further or repair. He ensured that our realtor was also informed. When I did ask a question, he stopped, took time to explain, made sure I understood the remedy before moving on. Even when he was asked to explain something about the home was not necessarily relevant to the inspection in general, he was just like a friend, he shared thoughts, asked me questions to fully understand why I was asking. To say the least, he did not want to leave me questioning things, long after he left. He even took time at the end for do a full walk, point out everything that he noted or noticed, asking making sure it was fully understood. When the inspection was over, he took time to chat, again, I felt like a neighbor or friend had stopped in for coffee. It was non-stressful, informative and truly peace of mind. Doug will truly be a name I will gladly share and use again.

Do not purchase a home until Mr. Doug Swanson performs a complete home inspection. He is happy to explain how appliances work, and reviews his findings so you know what you are buying. Some sellers cover up or hide issues and Mr. Swanson finds them and is well work the fee. I would not consider buying unless he does his inspection. Thank you Mr. Swanson! You look after the buyer.
